The Pioneer CDJ-2000 Portable Digital Audio Player is a pioneer piece of equipment designed for DJs. It features user-friendly hardware and software design which, according to Pioneer, will make DJing easier than ever before. This piece of equipment is color-coded in green, white and silver. The Pioneer CDJ-2000 supports MIDI control which can be used to create your own custom mapping so you can always control the mixer with ease instead of having to use the prebuilt maps. This unit also has USB capabilities so you can plug in your favorite music library or mobile device so you never miss a beat or need to stop playback while adjusting the volume levels. One of the main features of this unit is that it can play two tracks simultaneously and has a total of eight hot cues so you can perform live and record mixes. The CDJ-2000 was discontinued by Pioneer in 2015 and replaced by the CDJ-2000NXS. SHIFT function: Shift mode allows you to control the new performance functions of the CDJ-2000. Creating a custom mapping of controls is critical since there are no pre-existing mappings for this unit. The mappings need to be created by the user for each application and show. As mentioned previously, MIDI control allows you to create your own custom mappings and controls so that it works for your set up and needs. MIDI control is also useful when there is a standard mapping of the unit but it does not work with your setup or needs. Now, with MIDI control, you can customize it as needed without having to purchase any extra equipment such as another controller like a pad or jog wheel. The CDJ-2000 supports 3 SATA connections which can be used to read data off of, but it also supports reading data from CDs. The capacity of these drives are about 500 CDs or 2000 MP3s, making it one of the most versatile players ever created. Another feature that comes with the CDJ-2000 is that it can link up wirelessly with your computer if you are using Pioneer's rekordbox software, which was also created for this unit. This allows you to leave all your music files on your computer instead of taking them with you everywhere you go; although, some people may still choose to take their music with them on a hard drive. The CDJ-2000NXS has a USB slot available to use. This can be used to play music from any type of storage device such as a USB drive or memory card, but it can also be used to plug in laptops and other devices so you can adjust the sound and lighting on your laptop. The CDJ-2000 can play via USB or any of the three CD slots. You will need the Pioneer rekordbox software if you wish to use the USB function. eccc085e13
